My brother, in honor of his bride, commissioned "Still got the Heat" for their new home. Joel proposed to Whitney Anne in a hot air balloon. The hot air balloon seemed like a great symbol of the warmth, pride that love brings and family (since its her parents balloon.) This painting shows the many different phases of putting the balloon in flight, which i'm sure is metaphoric for love somehow. It seemed right.
I made this frame from reclaimed barn wood.
It adds both a rustic compliment to the work
and considerable presence to the room.
